St. George's Episcopal Church, Schenectady, NY * St. George's Episcopal Church, Schenectady, NY

Welcome, children and families! St. George's is committed to warmly engaging our friends of all ages.

Infants and toddlers (with their caregivers) are welcome in our church nursery at any time. There is no formal Christian education for this age group, but the space is warm and inviting, and stocked with plenty of toys, diapers, and other needed supplies. We offer childcare in the church nursery during both masses on an as-needed basis. Please contact the church office if you will need care in the nursery.

We offer Sunday school during our 10am mass for children ages 3-8. The Sunday school class follows the Revised Common Lectionary. Lessons generally include a simple Bible lesson (often using the Jesus Storybook Bible) and a simple craft.

Children and teens participate in the life of the church and often serve as acolytes, boat boys/girls, and choir members.

Children and youth also participate in special events during Sunday services, such as the St. George's Day procession through the Stockade, or the blessing of the gardens on Rogation Day, and have hosted special events for the church, such as a "birthday" reception for the Church universal on Pentecost. A highlight is our Christmas Pageant at the 4 pm Family Mass on Christmas Eve.We also sponsor a number of free play dates and community events in conjunction with Schenectady Moms and Dads Meetup.
