The Saint Cecelia Choir
Under the direction of Brian Hoffman,The St. Cecilia Choir of St. George's Church produces high-quality sacred music for the liturgies at St. George's Church. For most Sunday Services, the choir prepares 2 Anthems, A Complete Setting of the Mass Ordinary, as well as Chanting the Minor Propers of the Mass, and Hymn Descant Ornamentation.
Staples of their repertoire include serious compositions by great composers including: Carrissimi, Durufle, Corfe, Faure, Widor, Bairstow, Bach, Handl, Handel, Pitoni, Mozart, Tye, Haydn, Doland, Rutter, Titcombe, Stanford, Howells, Gabrielli, Palestrina, Brahms, as well as numerous compositions by Brian Hoffman. The St. Cecilia Choir rehearses most Thursday Evenings and all are welcome to audition.
